Christine and I knew it was coming and, in fact, didn't want to adopt her out to a family with no other dogs. She loves the company of other dogs and people. Anyway, Sophia is back at her original foster's home and here's the low down on her. Sophia wants to be in a family that lives together, plays together, cuddles together and sits on the porch in the evenings together. She wants to be part of the family. When we go inside, she goes inside. When we work in the garden, she comes along to watch or lay in the sun. Just like with any dog, corrections are necessary. 'Don't dig in the ... (Read More)garden' 'don't chew on the lawn chair' 'don't pee on the porch' are all common mistakes a young dog makes. Sophia is only 7 months old - born October 1, 2012. I have only had to correct her once, when she peed in the hallway. Other than that, she's very well behaved. Sophia's house training just needs to be refined, since she spent most of the past months left outside. She sleeps quietly in a crate in our room and breakfast and dinner are her favorite times of the day. Sophia is lying on the outside porch right now, watching the birds. I keep an eye on all my dogs, because I want them well behaved and not causing any problems with my neighbors. Sophia has a perfect ridge down the middle of her back - it's most noticeable when she's excited. With the ridgeback and her coloring she's probably both ridgeback and lab mix. She's close to 50 pounds now and is most likely full grown. Sophia is around 7 months old and about 50 lbs. As we believe proper health care of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. We need to find a new home for Rocky because our son has developed allergies to dogs. He is a very affectionate dog that loves attention. He is a great watch dog for the house. We would not recomend small children only because he is a high energy dog and is a large dog. He does have allergies and currently on allergy shots that he must be given at home. Meet Marvelous Misty! Misty is a petite 40 pounds and is approximately one year of age. She is the picture of health and energy! Misty is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is spayed. Misty is a mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Hound. She is working on sitting and staying but will require continued obedience training after adoption. Misty is shy at first but once she warms up all she wants to do is be near her person. She is friendly with other dogs but has not been cat tested. Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a fierce hunter that also makes a loyal family pet. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very smart and obedient with firm training. Rhodesian Ridgebacks do not like to be teased by children. Ridgebacks need to be thoroughly socialized with other pets and humans, and may be dog aggressive. Ridgebacks can live in an apartment but these dogs are very energetic and need lots of daily exercise. This is an excellent dog to take jogging.
