Rescue Me ID: 16-05-26-00634Dukie (male)
Hey folks, my name is Dukie. The ladies here at the shelter tell me I'm a handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, I'm not sure what that is. I'm only two and haven't learned the big words yet but if the ladies say I'm handsome I'll roll with that. I love my friends here, we have so much fun running and playing, but at the end of the day, the fun ends. There is no family for me to go home to, this isn't doggie daycare. I spend my nights alone in my kennel and being alone is scary. I'm hoping I find a new family very soon, one with a couple of kids I can snuggle with at night or another doggie I can play with or even just a mom and dad to share the couch with and watch some Animal Planet. I can't wait to be part of a family, so hurry, apply to adopt me so we can go home together! *Dukie is UTD on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. He is also heartworm positive but will be treated at no additional cost to his family (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00042Mojo (male)
Mojo is a very sweet dog once he gets to know you. He is jealous of children and this is the reason I am looking for a new home for him. He can be aggressive toward children and adults he does not know. Once he gets use to an adult he is fine. He loves attention and to cuddle. He was mostly an outside dog until I had to move in with my children. There is no where for him to stay outside. I love him very much, but I cannot have him being aggressive to children.

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00199Anastasia (female)
6/5/16 Update: Ana is still available for adoption! A recent veterinarian check has revealed that Ana is actually Rhodesian mix!! One of the requirements of adopting from Wcplf Pet Rescue is completion of a general screening to ensure an appropriate fit for not only the pet but for your family, as well. Rescue processes may seem 'tedious/lengthy and unnecessary' but we ask that you please take in consideration the time, effort and finances put forth for each rescued animal to rehabilitate, thus giving them the opportunity of finding a fur-ever home. If you aren't willing to complete an application prior to inquiring, please do not inquire. Please follow this link to fill out a short applicant prior to contacting Wcplf via email or phone. https://wcplf.wufoo.com/forms/ztqwwgp1tcgr2d/ IMPORTANT NOTE: We prefer a family WITHOUT puppies; not because Ana isn't good with puppies. In fact, she is wonderful with puppies and protective. Ana has displayed aggression whilst protecting two feral pups. We believe she was bred prior to rescue and the pups were taken before fully weened. This is known for the potential of creating a motherly aggression that cannot be broken. With that said; Ana gets a long great with cats and dogs of all sizes. This is Ana; approximately 18 months old. We 'pulled' her from a shelter as she was scheduled for euthanasia. Ana is currently with an external foster of Wcplf and has received full rehabilitation. Pros of sweet Ana: Leash trained, Potty trained, GREAT with kids and other animals; LOVES water; LOVES to run; UTD on vaccines; Spayed; VERY LOVABLE Ana's work in progress: Jumping We'd prefer a family with room for Ana to run as she is high-energy and running helps divert this energy from becoming a behavioral issue! If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, please contact me directly using the contact option after you've completed the adoption application. We work hard to give our rescues a second chance at life and take precaution with re-homing only because of the high potential of neglect and abandonment. Thank you for your interest! Nicole (Wcplf Founder) $25 adoption/re-homing fee -If you should ask; why do I have to 'pay' for a rescue pet?- Your adoption/re-homing 'donation' covers worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, vet treatment, kenneling, food, bed, toys, treats, collar, lead, harness, and training that your pet had whilst waiting for his/her fur-ever home. We can assure you that your adoption/re-homing 'donation' does NOT cover the amount spent on your adopted pet. All services, time, networking, behavioral training/rehabilitation, travel, transporting, home-checks, and phone calls are given freely by us as the rescue, affiliated rescues and our external fosters. Adoption/re-homing 'donations' are utilized to help the next pet in need. (Less)

Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a fierce hunter that also makes a loyal family pet. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very smart and obedient with firm training. Rhodesian Ridgebacks do not like to be teased by children. Ridgebacks need to be thoroughly socialized with other pets and humans, and may be dog aggressive. Ridgebacks can live in an apartment but these dogs are very energetic and need lots of daily exercise. This is an excellent dog to take jogging.
