Rescue Me ID: 16-08-07-00125Bear (male)

Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bear has some dane features such as his ears and muzzle area and his tail. We do believe he has some ridgeback in him as well as he does have a small ridge on his neck part of his back area and the vet saw some possible shepherd in there as well. All great breeds in my opinion. He is 5 months old and and 33 pounds so he will not get as big as a dane. We are thinking 60 to 70 pounds but that is just a guess. Bear is a happy, goofy and playful boy. He loves rolling and playing in the water so might make a great lake dog. He also loves running and playing with toys. He is not hyper at all, he's just a goofy sweet pup that like to play and loves ... (Read More)belly rubs. He is very well behaved for a pup and doesn't try to jump up on you at all. Great with other dogs and has been great with the kids we have had him around. $100 to adopt. If interested in adopting please fill out an adoption app at www.clevelandareapoundpals.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-29-00360Truckstop (male)

Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There was a homeless man who drowned here in okc two weeks ago & he had a dog. I know this because I saw a man sleeping with a dog under an overpass. I got dog food, water, & food for the man. When I took the items to the man, he told me about his friend who drowned & his friend asked him that if anything ever happened to him, to please take care of his dog (I Googled his story & yes, it's true - the drowning was all over the news). The man said he was barely able to get food for himself, much less the dog & he thanked me. I told him that I would do my best to bring food for him & the dog whenever I can afford it (which is hard for me to do ... (Read More)on a single income). The dog seemed sad & was very skinny. I asked him that if I found a home for the dog, would he be willing to let the dog go. He said yes. After a few days, the man (Henry) had grown attached to the dog (Truckstop) & wasn't willing to surrender him so I made arrangements with a rescue to take Henry to get Truckstop vetted. On Tuesday 7/26, Truckstop was vetted. The man from the rescue gave Henry his phone number & told him that if anything happened to Truckstop, to call him (Henry had told the rescue that the police had been harassing him & threatening to arrest him & take dog because he was sleeping under the overpass when it was raining the night before). The man from the rescue called me late last night to tell me that Henry had called him & said he was arrested on Wednesday (7/27 - the day after Truckstop was vetted) & that Truckstop is in the pound. I'm trying to look at this as a blessing, because now that means that I can get Truckstop out of the pound & into a home. I am fine with paying to get him out, I just don't have a place to take Truckstop. The man with the rescue is full & cannot take him. I need all the help I can get. Truckstop is a Rhodesian Ridgeback (could be mix), around 18 months old, & in good health other than not being fed well. For the last 2 weeks, I've been taking dog food to Henry every day. If anyone can help, I would be so grateful & will make a donation to your rescue & will continue to do so. I'm hoping that I can find a loving home for Truckstop. I wish I could take the Truckstop in myself, but I live in an apartment with my cat. Please help. I'm willing to pick up Truckstop & transport him to anyone who will help him. Thank you. (Less)
