Leo is approximately 2 1/2 years old and has been at the Caldwell County Animal Shelter since 1/27/12. He is a beauty and seems to get along with other dogs & adults. maggie weighs about 55 lbs. we have her brother also. She is light red with white feet with red speckles and white on muzzle and white tip on tail. Has white bellie with red speckles. She is about 85% house trained and is microchiped. We just can't handle both dogs. She seems to be a fearful dog in some respects. Has lost respect for our invisible fence. Does not like small animals including dogs. She is an inside dog when we aren't home and at night.She is OK with adults but not great with strangers. Pretty well kennel trained. We want someone who will love her. Has great nose on her.Seems to be very smart.Have had a vet evaluate in our ... (Read More)home who does not think she is aggressive, more fearful. Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a fierce hunter that also makes a loyal family pet. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very smart and obedient with firm training. Rhodesian Ridgebacks do not like to be teased by children. Ridgebacks need to be thoroughly socialized with other pets and humans, and may be dog aggressive. Ridgebacks can live in an apartment but these dogs are very energetic and need lots of daily exercise. This is an excellent dog to take jogging.
