    We are looking for a loving home for our dog Duke! Duke has an amazing story, my brother was camping and saw him being beaten, when he told the individuals to stop, they said to take the dog if he cared so much, so he did! Several years later Duke is still a loving part of our family. Unfortunately my Mom's home is being foreclosed on and she also has stage 4 lymphoma, so unfortunately Duke as well as our other dog Q-Tip, do not fit into the picture right now. We think Duke is around 7 years old and part Rhodesian Ridgeback which explains his beautiful coloring and intense loyalty for his owners. Because he was beaten he developed an ... (Read More)aggression towards other dogs so a family with no other pets would be ideal. However, he can be socialized, as he is currently living with our other dog and cat, and there are rarely any issues. Duke gets very attached to people and is known for following people around the house and waiting by the door when you leave. He LOVES to snuggle and enjoys sitting on the stairs and other ridged objects. He also likes to go through/stand under peoples legs, anything to be close to his owners.     We have a beautiful 2 year old Rhodesian mix (no ridge) I believe her papers say Boxer mix but I think our pound labels anything 'Boxer mix' if they have that fawn/tan coloring! We have came to a really hard decision of giving up our girl Suki because she doesn't do well with other dogs (and she would probably chase a cat if given the chance too). I don't want to mislead anyone, so I will say she has been in a few dog fights, which means she has bit other dogs, but has never EVER hurt a human. She is extremely gently with us, especially when we a re giving her a treat she is the most gently when taking it out of our hand, almost licking it ... (Read More)out. I more than anything want her to be with a loving family, so I told my husband I will not take her to the pound ever because I know what will happen to her there with her history. She was our very first dog and we adopted her at 8 weeks old. We live in Fresno, CA and would love for Suki to be close so Bucki can visit her sometimes but I know if she finds a great home somewhere else that will have to do. We love our girl a loving forever home for her needs. Suki would thrive as a single dog in a family and is great inside and loves loves loves the outdoors.     My name is Alice Moore and I need to find a home for my Ridgeback cross Dingo. She's 3 and half years old and is a beautiful cinnamon color with white streaks. My husband (who Dingo was very attached to) has died and I cannot keep Dingo where I am staying. A friend of mine has been very generous and taking care of Dingo, but can no longer keep her. Please help me find a good home for her! She loves men, trucks, chasing things, going for walks and in general running around. She doesn't do well with children and isn't crazy about other dogs (especially female dogs).

    Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a fierce hunter that also makes a loyal family pet. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very smart and obedient with firm training. Rhodesian Ridgebacks do not like to be teased by children. Ridgebacks need to be thoroughly socialized with other pets and humans, and may be dog aggressive. Ridgebacks can live in an apartment but these dogs are very energetic and need lots of daily exercise. This is an excellent dog to take jogging.
