|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-09-00004Sedona (female)|
Sedona is a 10-month-old pit/ridgeback? mix and was an owner surrender to PACC because they didn't have enough time for her. She was outside most of the time and did not have an opportunity to learn proper puppy manners. During a meet and greet at the shelter, she unintentionally met teeth with the skin of a younger child (classified as a bite) because she was so excited to be introduced to a potential family. She has been with her foster since August 27, 2016 and is learning impulse control and healthy outlets for her energy. She is enrolled in a basic obedience class and is excelling! She still bites on the leash very occasionally and LOVES to rip up toilet paper or paper towel rolls, but she is improving every single day. Sedona is house trained. When given access to a doggy door or routine potty breaks, she is 100% successful. She knows sit and down and has really learned her new name quite quickly (she wasn't very attached to 'Shelby.' She is also working on learning a lot of things every polite pup should know: place, loose leash walking, focus (look), and stay. She currently lives with 3 other dogs (2 like-size females and 1 smaller male). She is very playful and energetic and has not shown any aggressive tendencies, although she is still learning how to be less mouthy. And she is sometimes too pushy and exuberant with other dogs so she is always supervised while she learns to read and heed the other dogs' cues. She would need prior cat training due to her energy level to be safe before being introduced to cats. Due to her 'bite' history, careful consideration will be taken by interested applicants with young children. Sedona has 3 more weeks of class before she graduates on October 1, 2016. Any potential adopter would have to continue training/setting boundaries and limits in order to set her up for a lifetime of success. She is not afraid of much (will climb on most anything) but truly hates the sound of the clicker so her foster uses 'yes' and a treat when she does something well mannered and that works just fine! She is absolutely adorable and such a sweetheart. Be prepared for lots of wet kisses (and wet floors) as she has a very long tongue and loves to stick half her face in the water bowl as she drinks. Her foster dad has lovingly started calling her 'Marmaduke.' She definitely has the potential to be the (almost) perfect pup. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-03-00255SKIPPY (male)|
Skippy is almost ready for adoption ... and boy is he going to love his new family! Skippy was seen living in a field for quite some time .... sleeping on dirt and rocks like in his first photo. A wonderful friend of Pathways and an angel to the rescue community visited and fed Skippy for weeks on end, slowly gaining his trust. Finally on October 1st, the breakthrough was made and Skippy is now safe in a loving foster home. He went from a gravel bed to groveling for hugs within moments. (3 Skippy is doing so well in his temporary home - - great with all the dogs, and perked up when he saw the resident kitty but didn't go after the cat or show any negative behavior. He just walked around with a wiggling butt... and hoping that everyone and all the other dogs will play with him. There was no way for him to hide his happiness.... just bouncing with joy :) .... here's a video of Skippy 'day one' meeting everyone at his new safe place -- https://www.facebook.com/SherryPettaRescue/videos/580727195385781/?hc_location=ufi We're looking for a foster home for Skippy where he'll stay while he gets his vet exam, neuter, all his vaccines, and microchip... then he can be officially adopted. If you'd like to be part of this guys path to his forever family, please let us know and you can apply to be an approved foster with the rescue. Or, if you might like to be his forever family, even better. (3 We believe he's about 2 years old. Adoption fee is $180.00. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-08-09-00020Harley (female)|
Harley is about 6 years old. She was abused as a puppy when she was about 3 months old. I rescued her back in the end of 2010. She is a great dog, however can become anxious in certain situations. She is happy and energetic. I wish I didn't have to give her up, but I would like her to find a safe and happy home with someone who can care for her all the time. She has mostly been around adults and high school kids, so I do not know how she is with young children. She has lived with other dogs in the past up until about a year ago when our other dog passed away from old age. Harley has been chipped and spayed. She has been trained a little bit and knows simple commands, like halt and heal (for walking), sit, and stay. (Less)

Debo is a big sweet boy. Unfortunetly he does not get along withAny other dogs. He must be the only dog in the home. Debo was not socialized & he gets nervous around hectic situations. He needs to go to a loving forever home with someone that is experienced with his breed & is familiar in handeling nervous dogs to build that trust & love which as we know will equal loyalty. Debo is an amazing boy he is very smart & eager to please. He will be 4yrs old in September. He needs that special home that will take time & patience with him. He loves to go on walks & he will follow you all over the house to make sure you are okay. Debo loves to shake hands & hold hands. We all love him dearly but he keeps fighting our other dogs & we have tried everything. Breaks my heart to have to rehome him. Serious inquiries please. (Less)

We our living with family now who has 7 other dogs and sadly Rocky gets no attention and doesnt get the best treatment. I have 4 kids ages 18month to 10yrs and he is great with all of them. He has been around cats but hes so playful we are afraid to let him be alone with them. Not sure how rough he would be. |Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00304Bronco (male)|
Bronco is a brindle pit bull mix who weighs around 55 pounds. He is about 2.5 years old and has a highly energetic, rambunctious personality. This sweet boy craves attention from his people. He is an energetic player who would benefit from a compatible dog companion to play with. Bronco also loves squeaky toys and LOVES to snuggle, preferably on someone's lap. He needs to be with someone who can work on obedience training with him (he has already had some training lessons to work on impulse control at sol.DOG), wear him out each day, and provide him with a structured home life. Bronco would do best in a calm home with children over 10 and no cats. He also has Valley Fever, which will require long-term, continued care. (Less)

Rhodesian Ridgeback Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a fierce hunter that also makes a loyal family pet. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very smart and obedient with firm training. Rhodesian Ridgebacks do not like to be teased by children. Ridgebacks need to be thoroughly socialized with other pets and humans, and may be dog aggressive. Ridgebacks can live in an apartment but these dogs are very energetic and need lots of daily exercise. This is an excellent dog to take jogging.
